… a pensarci bene, Sestere era già lì.

Ancora prima che un notaio ne certificasse la nascita. Stava tra i filari di una vecchia vigna, nascosta dai tralci, sapientemente selezionati dall’uomo.

 

… come to think of it, sestere was already there.

Even before a notary public certified its inception. It was there, among the rows of an old vineyard, hidden by the branches, wisely selected by man.

All’ombra di foglie che regalano colori diversi a ogni stagione e che accarezzano grappoli d’uva dagli acini croccanti, profumati e inaspettatamente succulenti.

È bastato aprire gli occhi, stropicciali come fa un bambino di fronte allo stupore e lasciarsi andare fino a immergersi nella meraviglia.

   Questo è per noi Sestere!

 

 

In the shade of leaves that provide different colours in every season and that caress the bunches of grapes with crispy clusters, fragrant and unexpectedly succulent.

It was enough to open your eyes, rub them as a surprised toddler would and let yourself go until you were immersed in the wonder of it all.

   This is what Sestere is for us!

A noi piace pensare che, seppure recente, il progetto Sestere nasce dalla storia: la storia del territorio e la storia di due famiglie che da oltre 300 anni abitano in questa terra.
La famiglia Dario che all’inizio del ‘900, nel Borgo Malanotte, svolgeva l’attività  vitivinicola al servizio di grandi proprietari terrieri della zona.
La famiglia Cester che già  all’inizio del 1700 si occupava della coltivazione della terra e che dal 1800 è proprietaria di terreni vitati.
Sullo sfondo il fiume Piave, testimone silente di questa storia secolare, oggi riproposta grazie alla nuova generazione, interamente al femminile, che ha saputo convogliare il passato sulla strada del rinnovamento.
Sestere si radica nella tradizione, come la vite affonda le sue radici nel terreno, prefiggendosi l’obiettivo di valorizzare le uve di un territorio da sempre protagonista della viticoltura italiana. Noi di Sestere sappiamo che gli ingredienti ci sono: la natura, la storia, l’uomo, la visione e la volontà di esaltare tutto ciò, riscoprendo le uve autoctone, analizzandone ogni peculiarità  ma con un punto di vista nuovo, originale. La conseguenza naturale è la revisione di alcune tecniche abituali di coltura e di vinificazione, ponendo l’attenzione sulla natura del frutto e le sue reazioni alla nuova tecnica di elaborazione, fino a raggiungere il risultato desiderato, sempre attenti alle preferenze dei nuovi consumatori.
We like to think that, although recent, the Sestere project was born out of history: the history of the territory and the history of two families that have lived in this land for more than 300 years.
The Dario family which, in the early 1900s carried out wine-making activity in Borgo Malanotte at the service of large landowners in the area.
The Cester family which, already in the early 1700s, was involved in farming the land and which, since 1800, has owned vineyards.
In the background is the Piave River, a silent witness to these centuries of history, now reintroduced thanks to the new generation, all female, which skillfully guided the past along the path to renewal.
Sestere is rooted in tradition, just as the vines bury their roots in the soil, setting for itself the goal of promoting the grapes of a territory that has always been a protagonist in Italian wine production. We at Sestere know that the ingredients are: nature, history, man, vision and the willingness to exalt all of this, rediscovering the local grapes, analysing every one of their peculiarities, but from a new, original point of view. The natural consequence is the revamping of a few habitual farming and fermentation, placing the focus on the nature of the fruit and its reactions to the new processing technique until achieving the desired result, always attentive to the preferences of modern consumers.
